Oscillating between gesture and stillness, my paintings are imbued with real-world encounters, memories and experiences. Using gestural abstraction, I capture the essence of the natural world, evoking blue skies, blooming flowers, and approaching storms in vibrant bursts of color juxtaposed against serene moments of contemplation. Painting from life becomes a way to undo the logic, and create a space that is interstitial and ephemeral.

ABOUT ME

Over the past three decades I’ve enjoyed the challenge of re-organizing the chaos of the natural world into a variety of mediums. Initially self-taught, my journey led me to diverse workshops and classes with esteemed mentors, refining my skills and perspective. I currently paint in my studios in Vermont and Park City, Utah where I continue to explore the depths of my craft, fueled by an enduring passion for art history and the art of painting.
